Delete your account
You can do this yourself, from inside the app, at any time.
In the app
- Open giveit and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Tap Settings in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
- Confirm. The account and its data are removed immediately, and this cannot be undone.
Can't sign in any more? Email giveitappp@gmail.com from the address on the account, with the subject "GiveIt Account Deletion Request". Requests by email are processed within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your profile and account — email, username, photo
- Every item you listed, and its photos
- All your conversations and messages
- Reviews you have written
- Your notifications
- Your blocked-users list
What may remain
- Reviews other members wrote about you. They belong to those members and to the standing of the people you dealt with, so they stay — without your name attached.
- Copies in backups, for up to 30 days, after which they are permanently gone.
How long it takes
Deleting from inside the app happens straight away. Email requests are handled within 30 days.
